Parachilna Gorge

 Morning started with homemade dates scones and coffee from the park owners. Quick chat about road conditions and short time after 9 am we left this stunning place. Around 100 km down the road we reached the end of the Oodnadatta track in Maree. 

Fuelled up, tyre pressure back to normal, a drink in another iconic pub and a driver swap we drove on.  Our journey went on direction south until we reached Parachilna. Left turn on a gravel road and into the gorge towards Blinman. 

After 15 km we spotted a sunny, empty and amazing spot in the gorge. Petra pulled in and parked the van perfectly. Small setup, beer 🍺, cooked dinner and disappeared into the van because of annoying flies. 🤮🤮🤮. Sunset was nice 

Great night sky with plenty of stars ✨. Absolutely quite night, no noise.

Whyalla/ Shingle beach

 We left this morning this little town Waroonka and drove via Port Augusta onto the Eyre Peninsula to an important steel and iron ore production area Whyalla. It was a normal drive nothing exciting. 10 km before Whyalla we turned left to a free camp spot called Shingle beach.  For the next 4 days our home. Straight at the beach front, 10 meters from water and windy 🌬. We made a sightseeing tour through town, very interesting, along the beach and the shopping centre. We cooked on a windless day green peas stew with bacon & sausage, Indian lentils daal and sliced pork in mushrooms cream sauce with truffle polenta. All yummy.  Nights have been windy, clear and we could see all the ⭐️. Nice quite beach, rubbish bin, no toilet. We enjoyed it very much
