Hahndorf & Barossa valley

This morning we were pretty excited because today was the Barossa wine tour on our list. As usual after a long breakfast we started our trip around 11.30 just before lunch time. We chose a beautiful back road drive through a lot of vineyards and apple orchards. What a great start. Our first stop was St. Hallet, one of our favourites.

Nice cellar door and a great staff member. We choose 1 tasting to share. We got an extra glass from another tasting selection. We chose Shiraz and Cabernet Merlot. All where good but heaps too young. The best drinking range started 2031- 2041. No purchase and on to the next.

Seltsamsten/ Pepperjack

Years ago  my favourite was a Malbec from them.

We asked if we could share 1 tasting and it was no problem. We chose 1 Sauvignon, 1 Malbec, 2 Shiraz, 1 Cabernet, 1 Port and a goat cheese flatbread.

Wow, the ladies explained every wine with great passion and good knowledge, really entertaining. We spent nearly 2 hours there. Great location with style.

After our session we had a quick food shopping for dinner and we decided to drive back because we couldn’t have another tasting. Alcohol level wise.

At the caravan my lovely wife had a quick nap 😴 before our share platter dinner with duck liver pâté and other goodie’s.
