Rottnest island
Alex picked us up at 7am. An hour later we arrived at the ferry terminal. Quick coffee, then onto the ferry and arrived 30 minutes later on Rottnest Island.
Great arrival at the jetty, a lot of boats because of long weekend. Plenty of hotels and bars at the pier.
We decided to do a longer walk over the island. I hit the impression that the hike is a return track, wrong.
We followed a heritage walk and got some information about the war time and how Perth prepared themselves with defence lines. Was a nice walk through bush land, beaches and roads. At our turning point we got some company from some special guests. The Quokka. We had a lot of fun with these little friends.
Then we walked back to the ferry jetty, had some drinks, onto the ferry, back to Perth, a little bit ice cream and back to the caravan park. All in all we did 13 km of walking, what a great effort and a great day.
Packed bicycles on the car, cooked dinner, phone calls to Europe, shower and bedtime.
