Tom Price 3

This morning we left at 8 am for our big loop around the national park Karijini. We drove to Hancock Gorge, Handrail pool, Weano gorge and Kermit pool.

First long drive on bitumen and 10 km rough gravel road. But the drive was it worth. After an amazing walk around and down Weano Gorge we reached the turn off to Handrail pool. David spotted a venomous snake and we passed her with an distance. Nice walk through the Gorge until we reached a tide gap in the rocks where we walked through and got to the amazing rock pool.

Too dirty to get in but some people swam in it. We turned back and climbed up the Gorge walls and went to The gorge look 👀 out. What an astonishing view. Back to the car and lunch time.

After lunch we took the very steep climb down into Hancock Gorge. We had to walk over boulders and little waterholes until we got to our first water crossing. We all walked through.

Next corner, next challenge, deeper water to swim or climb over the rock wall. Petra’s shoes where very slippery and she decided to stay back. We other swam or climbed through. Another corner and next fun part. Small slippery long gap and we moved with both hands on the wall down to Kermit’s pool.

Nice cold little pond the end of our tour. Heading back, collecting Petra and began our head climb up over a ladder

to the car park.
